GATHER-YOUR-OWN-CHESTNUTS INFORMATION
Skyline Chestnuts is a Gather-Your-Own Orchard, which means you get to venture up the many hiking trails and gather the chestnuts yourself.
No pesticides or fertilizers are used on the trees; only organic growing practices are employed.
When you arrive, 5-gallon plastic buckets are available for you to use to collect the chestnuts in.
Cash only is accepted; we do not accept credit cards of any kind. Call ahead for pricing.
Close-toed, sturdy hiking boots or shoes are highly recommended to protect your feet from these burrs. It is also recommended to bring heavy leather gloves to pick the chestnuts, but we do have some available at the Orchard.
Leashed dogs are welcome in the parking area ONLY and are not allowed in the Orchard. Open Space trails that allow leashed dogs are available just to the south of the Orchard.
If you decide to bring a picnic lunch (highly recommended), a limited number of picnic tables are available for your enjoyment.
Due to high fire danger, no smoking, barbecues or fires are allowed at any time. |
